Climate Resilience

What is it?

Climate resilience is the preparation and endurance of climate change instead of working to delay it.

Why is it important?

There are many low-lying coastal communities around Hong Kong and the world that are under threat due to rising sea levels, loss of resources, and extreme weather events connected to climate change.

Building climate resilience preserves coastal communities by helping them endure climate change. It also should be addressed that if nothing is done, the communities might be displaced and if their cultures and livelihoods are destroyed, then they will just be a footnote in history.
